ENJOY project: Exploring novel joyous experiences in virtual reality and everyday life
What is the ENJOY study?
ENJOY is a research study from King's College London (KCL), which explores how different virtual reality nature environments can help to evoke pleasure and enjoyment.
What does the study involve?
There are two components to this research project, and you may participate in either or both parts. You will receive a £25 voucher for each part of the study you take part in.
Part one:
This will involve traveling to the KCL Institute of Psychiatry to take part in approximately 1 hour of virtual reality experiences in different types of environments and available activities. This will also involve collecting information about yourself via questionnaires.
Part two:
This involves participants wearing a watch that measures bodily signals for 6 days. Each day, a smartphone application will ask you to conduct an enjoyable activity and then measure your responses.

Eligibility criteria:
Over the age of 18
Have no history of a diagnosed mental health condition
To complete the virtual reality session, you must not have previous experiences of motion sickness or nausea using virtual reality equipment or be diagnosed with epilepsy

PATHWAY ONE: 1hr 30 min testing session + 30 min follow-up session.
PATHWAY TWO: 1hr testing session + 30 min follow-up session.
